Shuttle from Honolulu Airport to Schofield Barracks
+

Schofield Barracks is located at the base of Oahu’s Waianae mountain range, within a short drive from non-touristy town of Wahiawa. Home to the United States Army’s 25th Infantry Division (aka Tropic Lightning) it’s an important military installation on the island and one that is steeped in history as it was also a target during the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941. But you probably know all of that. If you’re headed to Schofield Barracks you’re either military (thank you for your service), family of military, or you have a penchant for historical events and are headed into the district for an engaging tour of the base and museum. What we’re here for, is to provide you with seamless HNL shuttle service to this unique island destination. Below is what you need to know.

Best Shuttle Service from Honolulu International Airport to Schofield Barracks and What Else You Need to Know

Take a Direct, Private, Flat-Rate Shuttle

You’re heading into a major military installation, so this immediately discounts the option of using a ride-hailing service such as Uber or Lyft. There are strict rules about getting through the secure gates of Schofield Barracks, requiring that you have photo ID which will be used to verify your identify (and background check if needed) in order to get a pass, be you a visitor or Army transfer. Can you safely say that some random Uber/Lyft driver is in the clear? Regardless of the fact that you used the app for transportation, do you want to risk being associated with them should they have a questionable background? The only logical option for HNL transport is a commercial service. Given that there are no Schofield Barracks provided shared shuttles, you need to secure a private and professional service with a commercial permit. This narrows things down quite simply for you. But of course, you need a private option that’s actually affordable. A traditional taxi for the approximate 20-mile drive will put a serious dent in your wallet, and if you’re in a party of two, three, four, or more with significant luggage in tow a common taxi may simply not have the room.

This is where Honolulu Airport Transfer comes in. We offer the most comfortable and efficient means to getting from HNL to Schofield Barracks. All that you need to do is book 24-hours in advance and we will be just outside of baggage claim waiting to receive you and your party. Our new, spacious, clean, and air-conditioned fleet of Toyota Sienna minivans have plenty of room for your party of four (call if your party is greater than four) and can also accommodate all of your luggage and carry-ons with ease. Once we get you loaded up we’ll whisk you away to Schofield Barracks without delay. Even better, we will provide a lei greeting (for a small charge) for those who want a little extra ALOHA to accompany them to the base.

What Else You Want to Know

If you’re not stationed at Schofield Barracks, nor a family member coming to visit someone who is, and are simply starting your trip to Oahu with a visit to the Tropic Lightning museum, then please note the hours of operation so that you’re not left waiting for the building to open (you won’t get through the gate until it does). The hours are as follows:

  • Monday – CLOSED
  • Tuesday to Saturday – 10 AM to 4 PM
  • Sunday – CLOSED
  • Statutory Holidays – CLOSED

If you arrive early, we can instead take you over to Wahiawa which is just 10-minutes away. Again, it’s not a touristy area but there is a fantastic and expansive cafe, Surfer’s Coffee, on Kamehameha Hwy where you can toil away for hours is needed. You can either book us for an extra hour (call to inquire) until the base opens and we’ll come back and get you when ready. Or we can drop you off at the cafe (or other Wahiawa location) and later on you can simply hop on the TheBus #72 which will take you from Wahiawa town to Schofield Barracks – a reasonable option for those with only a small carry-on. Whatever the case may be, we can help you figure it out because in addition to all of the above benefits Honolulu Airport Transfer is also the most flexible HNL shuttle.

Remember to give us 24-hours notice and we’ll pick you and your party up from the airport and take you directly to Schofield Barracks. Call us at 1.800.929.1219 or complete the form found here.
