No Designated Shared Shuttles to Mokuleia
There are no designated shared shuttle services from Honolulu International Airport (HNL) to anywhere on the North Shore, which includes Mokuleia. And even if there is one day, Mokuleia would be the last to be considered for the hypothetical route as it’s far removed from the North Shore’s most populated and visited areas. Most rentals (and Turtle Bay Resort) are located in Haleiwa, Pupukea, and Kahuku which are far northeast of Mokuleia.
Ride Hailing Services Hardly Go There
The remoteness of Mokuleia is also what makes it the bane for those who depend upon Uber and Lyft to get around the island. It’s hard enough finding an affordable rate on an Uber/Lyft to take you from anywhere in Honolulu to the North Shore, but many drivers exclude Mokuleia from consideration altogether. They know that the odds of finding a fare back from the community (after they drop you off) to their origin are slim to none. While you may find an Uber/Lyft driver to take you during primetime (between 9 AM and 3 PM) it will be very expensive from HNL. Outside of primetime you’re pretty much out of luck.
