Are you arriving at Honolulu International Airport on Super Bowl Sunday? Someone else clearly booked the flight, right? Whatever the reasoning may be you need to get to a sports bar as soon after leaving baggage claim as possible. However, a dive bar isn’t much of an option since you will have luggage and quite possibly a group in tow. You also need to find a spot that opens early enough to catch daytime games (many local bars don’t open until 2 PM HST). Whether you’re coming during the NFL season-ender, NCAA Final Four, NBA Finals, MLB World Series, the Summer Olympics, or other major event, the following sports bars near HNL will deliver the goods. For good measure, we’re also offering the best flat-rate, direct, and private shuttle service to get you from the airport to the bars below in the most efficient, comfortable, and convenient manner possible.
Top 3 Sports Bars Near Honolulu International Airport and How to Get There Fast
O’Toole’s Irish Pub – 20 Minutes from HNL
902 Nuuanu Ave, Honolulu, HI
Open Daily 10 AM to 2 AM
You can always count on an Irish pub to cover all of the major sporting events and O’Toole’s is no different. If you’ve been to Waikiki Beach then you probably already know its cousin – Kelley O’Neil’s on Lewers Street, but O’Toole’s is closer to HNL so if you must get in front of a TV fast and you dig the traditional Irish pub atmosphere this is where you need to go. That said, you must be willing to accept a deep affinity for the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and New England Patriots within these walls. If you’re rooting for an opposing team you may want to leave the cap at jersey packed in your carryon for good measure. All in all, O’Toole’s offers great food, great beer, and great game viewing with the hospitality that Irish pubs are so well known for, with a dash of aloha spirit.
PITCH Sports Bar – 25 Minutes from HNL
685 Auahi St suite 216/217, Honolulu, HI
Monday and Tuesday – 2 PM to 12 AM
Wednesday to Friday – 2 PM to 2 AM
Saturday and Sunday – 11 AM to 12 AM
While weekday hours may not coincide well with live sporting events that run in HST mornings and early afternoons, PITCH is a sports bar through and through with a great Happy Hour to boot. It’s a relatively new addition within the Kaka‘ako Shopping Center so the decor is fresh, modern, and up to date with large-screen TVs all over the walls so that no matter where you’re sitting you’ll have a great view of the game. PITCH gives priority to University of Hawaii football games but also shows NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS games and more as dictated by the season.
SIN Lounge – 20 Minutes from HNL
1111 Nuuanu Ave, Honolulu, HI
Open Daily 6 AM to 2 AM
SIN Lounge is a no-nonsese watering hole / sports bar in Honolulu’s Chinatown area with a contemporary feel. The best part, is that it’s open from 6 AM to 2 AM so it’s ready for you within 30-minutes of your HNL arrival and will be playing the game by the time you get there. Their cocktail menu is surprisingly expansive and diverse (especially the martinis) as is their beer selection, including $3 pints during Happy Hour. There is no staple food menu but during big NFL and NCAA bowl games they do put on a BBQ to keep patrons well fed. Call ahead at 808-538-8746 to check, or grab a snack from the airport before heading over to SIN Lounge.
Simply give us 24-hours notice and we’ll pick you and your party (our amazing flat rate applies for up to four people) up from the airport and take you directly to any of the above sports bars or anywhere on the island. Call us at 1.800.929.1219 or complete the form found here.
