In a recent article about how to get from Honolulu Airport to Marriott Ko Olina we provided not only a succinct answer as to why a private flat rate shuttle is the best option, but a photographic review of what your arrival would look like. The feedback we received from visitors was great. The reason for the positive response was steeped in the fact that while most travelers (to Oahu) are familiar with the Waikiki area, far fewer are acquainted with Ko Olina. Having a visible representation of the resort community helped ease concerns about arrivals. Today, we’re going to take a similar look at another major island resort that you may be visiting for the first time – Turtle Bay. Below is everything you need to know about getting there from HNL.
Best Way to Get from Honolulu International Airport to Turtle Bat Resort and What Else You Need to Know
Take a Direct, Private, and Affordable Flat Rate Shuttle
Turtle Bay Resort is located on the fabled North Shore of Oahu, aka the seven mile miracle, or simply…paradise. With limited infrastructure (compared to “town”) you will want to be sure to secure the most trusted commercial direct shuttle service, versus using a non-professional ride share driver for Uber or Lyft. In fact, getting one from HNL to Turtle Bay will be very challenging as few Uber/Lyft drivers accept trips so far outside of their zones. And if you do find one, you will most likely need a far more expensive Uber XL (etc.) to accommodate the size of your party and luggage. Again, further delays may ensue. A traditional cab is not an option either, given the sheer expense of taking a metered taxi over such a great distance. Turtle Bay even states the following on their website:
“Turtle Bay Resort does not have taxi or Uber service readily available” (Turtle Bay Resort)
Turtle Bay also does not provide their own shuttle service from HNL to the resort. So what are you and your party to do? Again, use our direct, private, flat rate shuttle – just $125 for your entire party of up to four passengers. What Your Arrival Looks Like
Once we’ve pulled off of picturesque Kamehameha Highway on to Kulima Drive we approach the front of Turtle Bay Resort.
The open air common area at the entry to the resort is very chill, so feel free to kick back before walking up to the reception desk. If you’re too early to check-in, there is plenty to see and do around the resort in the AM before you even hit your room. Simply leave your luggage at reception and check out the following:
Visit the Guidepost center to plan your week (or more) of activities on the North Shore…
Get some shopping done right inside of the Turtle Bay Resort lobby…
Grab a snack, coffee, or cocktail (you’re on vacation!) from the Lobby Lounge…
Or head outside to have your snack, coffee, or cocktail with a better beachfront view….
Alternatively, you can just relax by the pool…
You can also check out the resort’s very own beach…
More adventurous souls may prefer to explore the rugged coast to the east of the resort property…
Lastly, just a reminder than it’s much better to rent a car after you’ve arrived from the airport. Don’t worry, Turtle Bay Resort has some pretty appealing options.
