Rent a Car AFTER You Arrive at Hotel (if you want to)
Speaking of ill-advised forms of transportation from HNL (Uber/Lyft, etc.) don’t even think about renting a car from the airport. HNL car rentals are expensive and the process to rent one is a waste of valuable time. Moreover, arriving at the Waikiki Resort Hotel prior to check-in is complicated when you have rented a vehicle from the airport. Primary parking spaces are slotted for the hotel’s on-site car rental service (First Rent-a-Car). Further, why waste the $35 (per day) for the first day of parking when you probably won’t venture outside of Waikiki until the next day at the earliest? Take our advice and save the car rental for after you’ve arrived in Waikiki Beach.
