Ever since the merger between Aqua and Aston Hotels a few years back, there are now a total of five Aston properties in the Waikiki Beach area. The collection offers an eclectic mix of options to seekers of budget friendly and upscale accommodations alike, with all providing impeccable convenience. Given that each of the five hotels/resorts are located in heart of Oahu’s tourism mecca, you and your party (up to four) will enjoy a $35 flat rate for a direct and private shuttle from Honolulu Airport. Without a doubt you have just stumbled upon the best way to get from HNL to your check-in destination. But alas, we are providing some additional insight about these properties so that your arrival in paradise goes as smooth as possible.
Best Way to Get from HNL to Any of the 5 Aston Hotels in Waikiki Beach and What You Need to Know About Each
Aston Waikiki Sunset
229 Paoakalani Ave, Waikiki Beach Honolulu, HI
Being located off “the strip” makes this one of the more affordable Aston properties, but don’t worry, its position on Paoakalani Avenue is of no concern as you’re just a 5 minute walk from the beach. If you arrive at HNL (and thus Waikiki) early, you can leave your luggage with the concierge and check out other (in addition to the beach) nearby attractions such as the Honolulu Zoo (2 minute walk east) or stroll along Ala Wai Canal which is found within a minute of walking north up Paoakalani.
Aston Waikiki Circle Hotel
2464 Kalakaua Ave, Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, HI
This is one of the most iconic yet reasonably priced hotels in all of Waikiki. The circle-shaped accommodation is located smack-dab in the middle of prime Waikiki Beach territory, across from the Kuhio Hula Mound and pretty much all of the action. You won’t mind an early arrival one bit, and the earlier the better because located under the aquatic-themed lobby is the equally iconic Eggs ‘n Things breakfast spot. Bring your appetite!
Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel
The most popular of the Aston properties in Waikiki, you simply can’t go wrong with an early arrival. The colorful downstairs open-air lobby is expansive, relaxing, and photo-friendly, while the second floor (where you check-in) offers poolside lounging or the option to bide time at Tiki’s Bar & Grill – which is one of the best tiki bars near Honolulu Airport. The hotel/resort is perched above Kalakaua Avenue boutique shops and other eateries so it can get a bit busy, which is why it’s a good idea to take a shuttle from the airport as opposed to renting a car – you don’t want to get stuck in the traffic queue leading to the valet.
Aston at the Waikiki Banyan
This resort-condo property is a favorite of many frequent visitors to Oahu thanks to it’s convenient yet economical location and a classic island vibe that becomes evident from the moment you are dropped off at the lush, dark wood environment. Ohua Avenue runs parallel to Paoakalani (where Aston Waikiki Sunset) is located so the conveniences are all the same, but the inviting lobby may have you just kicking back in the comfortable seating until your suite if ready.
Aston Waikiki Beach Tower
2470 Kalakaua Ave, Waikiki Beach, Honolulu, HI
This is an exquisitely renovated and upscale property that will have you out surfing, snorkeling, or simply sunbathing within minutes of arrival. If you want to keep things close to quarters in your first few hours you can head up to the fourth floor sundeck. There, you can kick back with unobstructed ocean views and truly set the scene for your first day in paradise.
